IGNOU July Session 2025 Overview

Students can enroll in various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs offered by the Indira Gandhi National Open University. IGNOU admission process for IGNOU is available online, making it easy for students to apply from anywhere. A

Students must select their preferred courses, fill out the online application form, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee. Students can choose from 339 total courses at IGNOU. Among them 295 are IGNOU distance education courses.

There is multiple entry and exit option available for distance IGNOU programme. Students can also check admission status for IGNOU July Session online after registration process. During the July 2025-26 IGNOU session admission 2025 last date was 30 July 2025.

IGNOU students get study material in online or printed format depending on their choice. To support the distance education and online courses IGNOU contact classes are also provided to enrolled students. These classes are conducted at IGNOU study centres and regional centres.

These IGNOU centres also helps in offline admission process for various IGNOU PG, UG, and other Diploma and certificate courses. Assignments are also given to enrolled students every semester. 

IGNOU Re-Registration 2025

For the 2025 July session IGNOU will open the re registration process. Online and ODL (UG, PG, and some Diploma) courses enrolled students will now apply for re admission at IGNOU. Students can open the official re-registration portal of IGNOU @onlinerr.ignou.ac.in to complete the procedure. IGNOU re-registration is the process in which already enrolled IGNOU students register themselves for the next semester. This process is repeated after every term end examination.

Fill the IGNOU Re-Registration Form

• Open the re-registration website on the browser.
• Read the instructions given on the home page.
• At the end of the instruction select proceed for Re registration.
• Sign-in with IGNOU online student login.
• Select the course and year to continue for the registration process.
• Enter the details in the application form.
• Pay the IGNOU re registration fees of Rs. 200/-.
• Submit the form and save the acknowledgement page.

Who can apply for IGNOU Admission 2025

• For IGNOU UG admission students must have a 12th qualification from any recognized educational board. There is no minimum percentage requirement for admission.
• IGNOU PG admission 2025 July Session eligibility criteria is a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Student must produce the degree from a relevant university.
  
• To pursue the IGNOU Diploma and Certificate level courses, students must have a 10+2 from a recognized board. Some courses at certificate level are available after 10th class only. These diploma and certificate courses are skill based IGNOU short term courses. They last for only 6 months to 1 year in duration.
• Admission in 2025-26 IGNOU courses are directly merit based for all courses (except BEd, PBScN, and PhD). An entrance exam is conducted for BEd, Post Basic Nursing (PBScn), and PhD.

IGNOU 2025 Fees

Average PG course fees at IGNOU is in the range Rs.10,000 to Rs.31,000 per year. This amount is accepted through online IGNOU student login 2025. 

UG courses fees at IGNOU range between Rs.Rs.9,000 to Rs.15,000 per year. Similarly for the 2025 January IGNOU session Certificate courses students pay between Rs.6,000 to Rs.18,000.

Apart from these academic fees, IGNOU application fee of Rs. 300/- is paid online. This is a one time payment and it is non refundable. Every semester students pay an IGNOU exam form fee of Rs. 200/- per theory subject. Practical exam form fee is Rs. 300/- to be paid before IGNOU term end examination.

How to Generate a IGNOU DEB ID?

Distance Education Bureau Identification is an online ID that help universities track the distance education credit and marks of students. It is now mandatory to register with the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) and make an ID. This ID is used by IGNOU during the admission process 2025 to monitor the distance education history and records. To make this ID students can visit the official website of DEB @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.

To make the DEB ID students must have an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID. Step by step process to make a DEB ID is:

Step 1: Visit the DEB website @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.

Step 2: On the website a dialogue box is given for DEB ID generation.

Step 3: If the student already has an ABC ID, they can enter the ABC ID on that dialogue box and it will generate the DEB ID.

Step 4: For students that do not have ABC ID, they can visit the digi locker and create their ABC ID there.

Step 5: After creating the ABC ID they can return to the DEB portal to register and create DEB ID.

IGNOU Admission 2025 Process

Step 1: Visit the official website of the IGNOU ODL admission.

Step 2: Open the “New Registration” link.

Step 3: Fill up basic details.

Step 4: Lastly, click over the Register button.

Step 5: A username and password are created for IGNOU admission login and sent to the registered email.

Step 6: Log in to the IGNOU ODL admission portal with the new credentials.

Step 7: Enter academic details like previous degrees and qualifications. Similarly, enter personal details where needed.

Step 8: Pay the IGNOU application fee for 2025. The amount is Rs. 300/-.

Step 9: Submit your admission form 2025. An acknowledgement form is generated, download it. This form has the enrollment number of the applicant.

Documents Needed

IGNOU asks for documents with various details like educational, identification, address proof related documents for the 2025 admission process. These documents are collected during admission as soft copies and when a student is selected for admission, they need to produce these documents for offline verification. Following documents are needed –

• Signature copy
• Job Experience Letter (if applicable)
• 10th Mark Sheet
• 12th Mark Sheet (if needed)
• Bachelor’s Degree (for required courses)

Note:The portals for distance and online portals are different. Students must visit the portal for the type of course they are aiming for.

Offline IGNOU 2025 Admission at Regional Center

Step 1: For taking admission in the 2025 session using offline IGNOU services visit nearby regional centre.

Step 2: Ask for the office of “Student Service Cell” at the regional centre or study centre.

Step 3: Talk to an IGNOU there and get the offline admission form.

Step 4: Fill the form using a ball pen.

Step 5: Fill accurate details and attach photocopies of needed documents. (see full list above)

Step 6: Pay the application fee online.

Step 7: Submit the form to complete IGNOU offline admission 2025.

How to create IGNOU Student Login

IGNOU student login is the process of registering for the admission process 2025. Students can visit the IGNOU 2025 portal and click on register now to create the “ID“. Candidates do not require to pay any amount for creating IGNOU student login. Students mention their name, email address, mobile number, etc for getting the student login. Students can use the student login to get their admission status, assignment status, & study centre details.

Step 1: Visit the web portal for IGNOU student login 2025 process. ODL and Online courses have different admission links.

Step 2: On the admission portal register for new admission. Click on “New Registration”.

Step 3: Fill in the contact details of email and mobile number.

Step 4: New IGNOU login username and password are sent to the given email id.

IGNOU Admission Status 2025

Indira Gandhi National Open University candidates who have applied to the university can check their IGNOU status from here. After registering themselves with IGNOU for their selected program, students can check whether their admission status 2025 is updated or not. Indira Gandhi National Open University admission status can be checked on the official admission check portal.

Students can open the portal and log in with their enrollment number and subject code to get the status of IGNOU admission. All the important information is uploaded to this official portal by the administration to make the admission process more transparent.

Check Status on IGNOU Student Login 2025

Step 1: Applicants/students need to visit the admission status portal of the university.

Step 2: After opening the portal, enter the enrollment number and program code.

Step 3: Click on the “Submit” button.

Step 4: Admission status for the entered enrollment number will be displayed on the screen.

Entrance Exam for IGNOU Admission

Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the entrance examination for BSc Nursing, BEd, and PhD courses each year in the January first week. Registration for the IGNOU Entrance exam 2025 starts in January 2025.

Applicants need to visit the official portal to register for the examination @ignou.ac.in. Students are required to meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen courses. In the case of the PhD program, an interview round is conducted after the entrance examination to complete the 2025 IGNOU PhD admission process.

IGNOU Multiple Entry and Exit

IGNOU also offers flexible admission options with multiple entry and exit opportunities. This is allowed across programs like BCom and BSc. According to the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a student can exit an IGNOU degree program before the completion of the full course.

Now students can exit with a small Diploma or Certificate level degree from their undergraduate degrees. But they do not lose their academic credits and can get a UG certificate or a Diploma.
