Eligibility Criteria: Depending on the subject 10+2 is needed for UG/Diploma, and Certificate admission. Whereas for PG and PG Diploma courses, a bachelor’s degree is needed. For PhD courses a master’s degree in a related field is needed. For regular PhD admission entrance exam is mandatory.
Admission Criteria: IGNOU allows admission to UG and PG courses on the basis of previous academic marks. An entrance exam is conducted for B.Ed admission and IGNOU PhD Admission.

Who can apply for IGNOU Admission 2025
For IGNOU UG admission students must have a 12th qualification from any recognized educational board. There is no minimum percentage requirement for admission.
IGNOU PG admission 2025 July Session eligibility criteria is a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Student must produce the degree from a relevant university.
To pursue the IGNOU Diploma and Certificate level courses, students must have a 10+2 from a recognized board. Some courses at certificate level are available after 10th class only. These diploma and certificate courses are skill based IGNOU short term courses. They last for only 6 months to 1 year in duration.
Admission in 2025-26 IGNOU courses are directly merit based for all courses (except BEd, PBScN, and PhD). An entrance exam is conducted for BEd, Post Basic Nursing (PBScn), and PhD.

IGNOU 2025 Fees
Average PG course fees at IGNOU is in the range Rs.10,000 to Rs.31,000 per year. This amount is accepted through online IGNOU student login 2025.
UG courses fees at IGNOU range between Rs.Rs.9,000 to Rs.15,000 per year. Similarly for the 2025 January IGNOU session Certificate courses students pay between Rs.6,000 to Rs.18,000.
Apart from these academic fees, IGNOU application fee of Rs. 300/- is paid online. This is a one time payment and it is non refundable. Every semester students pay an IGNOU exam form fee of Rs. 200/- per theory subject. Practical exam form fee is Rs. 300/- to be paid before IGNOU term end examination.

How to Generate a IGNOU DEB ID?
Distance Education Bureau Identification is an online ID that help universities track the distance education credit and marks of students. It is now mandatory to register with the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) and make an ID. This ID is used by IGNOU during the admission process 2025 to monitor the distance education history and records. To make this ID students can visit the official website of DEB @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.
To make the DEB ID students must have an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID. Step by step process to make a DEB ID is:
Step 1: Visit the DEB website @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.
Step 2: On the website a dialogue box is given for DEB ID generation.
Step 3: If the student already has an ABC ID, they can enter the ABC ID on that dialogue box and it will generate the DEB ID.
Step 4: For students that do not have ABC ID, they can visit the digi locker and create their ABC ID there.
Step 5: After creating the ABC ID they can return to the DEB portal to register and create DEB ID.
Step 5: A username and password are created for IGNOU admission login and sent to the registered email.
Step 6: Log in to the IGNOU ODL admission portal with the new credentials.
Step 7: Enter academic details like previous degrees and qualifications. Similarly, enter personal details where needed.
Step 8: Pay the IGNOU application fee for 2025. The amount is Rs. 300/-.
Step 9: Submit your admission form 2025. An acknowledgement form is generated, download it. This form has the enrollment number of the applicant.

Entrance Exam for IGNOU Admission
Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the entrance examination for BSc Nursing, BEd, and PhD courses each year in the January first week. Registration for the IGNOU Entrance exam 2025 starts in January 2025.
Applicants need to visit the official portal to register for the examination @ignou.ac.in. Students are required to meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen courses. In the case of the PhD program, an interview round is conducted after the entrance examination to complete the 2025 IGNOU PhD admission process.
IGNOU also offers flexible admission options with multiple entry and exit opportunities. This is allowed across programs like BCom and BSc. According to the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a student can exit an IGNOU degree program before the completion of the full course.
