IGNOU Diploma Courses: IGNOU offers diploma programs for students who want to improve their skills in various professional domains. There are multiple specialization subjects available to choose from. You will study subjects like Tourism Studies, Creative Writing, Nutrition and Health Education, and Early Childhood Care based on your diploma specialization. After finishing these courses you can find education, health, and tourism jobs.

To apply, candidates must have completed 10th, and for some IGNOU diploma courses 12th with at least 50% marks is required. These programs usually take 1 to 2 years to complete. You can apply online, and the application fee is around INR 300.

Each program is managed by its department, so the eligibility criteria can vary. Generally, you need to have completed matriculation, but some courses may also require work experience. Admissions are based on merit. You can apply online during 2025 academic session January and July admission cycles through the department’s website or a common portal. The online admission process can be followed at the IGNOU Samarth Portal @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. While the offline process for diploma program admission can be traced and completed by visiting the nearby regional center of the university. 

The gate for admission to various diploma programs such as Diploma in Aquaculture, Diploma in Paralegal Practice, Diploma in Retailing, Diploma in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, etc., is open to individuals who have completed 12th or bachelor’s degree education from a recognized board/university. IGNOU Diploma Courses Assignment 2025

IGNOU Assignment submission has started for all diploma courses to appear in term-end examination. Students are advised to submit the assignment through the official website or visit the nearest regional/Study center. Without assignment submission, applicants are not allowed to appear in June term-end examination 2025. Assignments carry 30% marks of the total in each subject.

Diploma in Teaching German as a Foreign Language

• All individuals with a bachelor’s degree in German are eligible to enroll in DTG.
• It is required that the obtained degree must be received from any approved university in India.

Diploma in Nursing Administration

• Aspirants need to have professional experience in general nursing and midwifery with a minimum of two years.
• BSc Nursing with no experience is also valid for admission to the Diploma in Nursing Administration program.

Diploma in Theatre Arts

• Applicants are only required to pass the 10+2 examination from a recognized or approved board.
• 35 percent is the minimum requirement for admission to Diploma in Theatre Arts programs.

Diploma in Critical Care Nursing

• Registered Nurses at all levels are approved for admission to the Diploma in Critical Care Nursing program.

Diploma in Smart City Development and Management

• Aspirants must pass the 12th-grade examination with science and mathematics as mandatory subjects.
• The requirement or need mark is 40 percent for admission to the Diploma in Smart City Development and Management program.

Diploma in Retailing 

• Candidates who succeed in passing the 12th level of examination can easily apply for admission to IGNOU’s Diploma in Retailing program.

Diploma in Business Process Outsourcing—Finance and Accounting

• The only way to get admission to the Diploma in Business Process Outsourcing—Finance and Accounting program is to secure 50 in the 10+2 examination with English as a primary subject.
• 50 percent in bachelor’s degree in English is also perfect for admission to IGNOU’s Diploma in Business Process Outsourcing program.

Diploma in Women’s Empowerment and Development

• Candidates who are seeking admission to the Diploma in Women’s Empowerment and Development must complete the 10+2 level education with three working experience as development workers.

Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health

• IGNOU Diploma course in Psychology or Mental Health is a Post-Graduate course. Students must graduate from a related course from a recognized university/council.

Indira Gandhi National Open University application forms for Diploma courses are closed for January 2025 academic session. Students can select either option online or offline to fill out the application form on time. 

Application forms for IGNOU diploma courses cannot be submitted without a registration fee. The registration fee for all diploma courses is INR 300. Applicants may deposit an application fee with any of the following modes such as demand draft, credit/debit card, net banking, etc.
