To pursue the PGDCA course, students need to apply online through the IGNOU official website @ignou.ac.in. The registration window for PGDCA course admission 2026 at IGNOU has been scheduled to begin from 03 June 2026. The last date for registrations will be 30 June 2026*. The application process will be completed online/offline with a fee of INR 300 (non-refundable). IGNOU offers PGDCA courses with a duration of 1 Year. The total fee for the course is INR 21,600.

Students with a bachelor’s degree and mathematics in the 12th grade can apply to this course. Students applying to IGNOU should prioritise obtaining their DEB ID. Identification is needed for completing the admission process and receiving important updates regarding their courses.

This program is a thorough study of the subjects that are relevant in the computer application domain. Students study programming-specific theory subjects like C, Python and Data Structure. They also get to engage in the practical classes with subjects like Windows and Linux Lab, Data Structure Lab. IGNOU PGDCA Eligibility Criteria for Admission

Students who have a bachelor’s degree and mathematics as one of the subjects in their 12th class meet the IGNOU PGDCA eligibility criteria. These students do not require any additional courses, and they are selected on the basis of the merit of their UG scores.

However, if a student does not have mathematics as one of their UG or 12th class courses, students can still apply after completing a graduate-level mathematical bridge course.

IGNOU PGDCA Fee

Course fee for IGNOU PGDCA is INR 21,600/-. This fee is payable at the start of each PGDCA semester. For students who need IGNOU PGDCA bridge courses, an extra fee of INR 1,400/- is to be paid.

Distance education admission at IGNOU demands INR 200/- as the University Development Fee. It is necessary to make this payment for the completion of the IGNOU admission process 2026. Fee is accepted via online channels like UPI, credit card, debit card, etc.

IGNOU also allows students to pay the fee offline at IGNOU regional centres. These centres help students in offline IGNOU admissions and services. During the offline admission process, students can pay the fee offline at the IGNOU regional centres.

How to Apply for IGNOU PGDCA Admission Process 

• Visit the ODL admission portal. IGNOU online portal for ODL admission @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in
• Register and make a new admission account. Use a valid email and mobile number.
• Use the new login to open the IGNOU admission portal for PGDCA.
• Fill in the admission form. Enter all the needed details.
• Select the PGDCA under the IGNOU subject section.
• Upload documents when the application form prompts. These documents are needed for the verification of the data entered.
• Pay the IGNOU application fee of Rs. 300/-.
• Submit the IGNOU PGDCA application form. Click on the “Submit” button.

IGNOU Fee Refund

Students can get their fees refunded in the case of an admission cancellation request. IGNOU has a detailed policy in place to monitor fee refund processes. PGDCA students get multiple options to cancel their IGNOU admissions. There are 2 stages in which students can apply for a fee refund.

1. Before the admission is finalized.
2. Till 60 days after the finalization of admission.

IGNOU PGDCA Examination Pattern

IGNOU PGDCA admission follows a semester system with two terms per year. Each course is evaluated through assignments (30% weightage) and term-end examinations (70% weightage). The term-end exams are typically held at the end of the academic semester in June and December.

Students must submit assignments before appearing for the term-end exams. Students can submit IGNOU assignments in 2 ways. They can either reach to the regional centre website and bring a google form there. The exams usually consist of both theory and practical components, testing your understanding of computer application concepts and programming skills. IGNOU provides detailed guidelines and previous year question papers to help you prepare effectively.

IGNOU PGDCA Evaluation System

• Continuous Assessment: 30% of your grade comes from assignments submitted throughout the semester.
• Term-End Examination: 70% of your grade is based on the final exam result. These are conducted at the end of each semester.
• Practical Exams: Some courses include hands-on practical exams to assess your programming and technical skills.
• Minimum Pass Criteria: Students must score at least 40% in both assignments and term-end exams to pass a course.

These assignments are also important for students evaluation. 30% marks in the final PGDCA report card are based on assignments. To submit, students can either visit the online portal or take the help of IGNOU study centres for offline IGNOU assignment submission.

How to Submit PGDCA Assignments

IGNOU only accepts handwritten assignments for PGDCA. Students can visit their Regional centre or the study centre to submit their completed PGDCA assignments. At the study centre, students will find a student service cell open. These students can complete offline administrative services. To submit your  PGDCA assignments, ask for an employee at the IGNOU centre and take the acknowledgement receipt.

How to Apply for Fee Refund

• Open a registered email.
• Prepare a mail for IGNOU PGDCA admission cancellation.
• Mention the PGDCA enrollment number. Also write the course code (PGDCA) and name (POST GRADUATE Diploma in Computer Application).

• IGNOU will initiate the fee refund.
