IGNOU Admission 2026 July Session
Admission 2026 July session at IGNOU will start from 25 April 2026 for all ODL and online programs. The forms will be invited online at the Samrth admission portal @ignou.ac.in for all courses. IGNOU will commence the admission process for UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate programs for applicants who have passed 10+2 and a UG degree from any recognised institution. The last date of IGNOU admission 2026 will be 15 May 2026* for all courses. Admission will be done directly based on merit. The application form fee is INR 300, which is non-refundable.
Students must select their preferred courses, fill out the online application form, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee. Students can choose from 339 total courses at IGNOU. Among them, 295 are IGNOU distance education courses.
Eligibility for IGNOU Admission 2026
- For IGNOU UG admission, students must have a 12th qualification from any recognized educational board. There is no minimum percentage requirement for admission.
- IGNOU PG admission 2026 July Session eligibility criteria require a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Students must produce a degree from a relevant university.
- To pursue the IGNOU Diploma and Certificate level courses, students must have a 10+2 from a recognized board. Some courses at the certificate level are available after 10th class only. These diploma and certificate courses are skill-based IGNOU short term courses. They last for only 6 months to 1 year in duration.
- Admission in 2026-27 IGNOU courses is directly merit-based for all courses (except BEd, PBScN, and PhD). An entrance exam is conducted for BEd, Post Basic Nursing (PBScn), and PhD.
IGNOU Admission Fees Structure 2026
- UG course fees at IGNOU range between Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000 per year. Similarly, for the 2026 July IGNOU session, Certificate course students pay between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 18,000.

- Visit the official website of the IGNOU ODL admission.
- Open the “New Registration” link.
- Fill up the basic details.
- Lastly, click on the Register button.

- A username and password are created for IGNOU admission login and sent to the registered email.
- Log in to the IGNOU ODL admission portal with the new credentials.
- Enter academic details like previous degrees and qualifications. Similarly, enter personal details where needed.

How to Generate a IGNOU DEB ID?
- To make the DEB ID students must have an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID. The following Steps are to make a DEB ID is:
- Visit the DEB website @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.
- On the website a dialogue box is given for DEB ID generation.
- If the student already has an ABC ID, they can enter the ABC ID on that dialogue box and it will generate the DEB ID.
- For students that do not have ABC ID, they can visit the digi locker and create their ABC ID there.
- After creating the ABC ID they can return to the DEB portal to register and create DEB ID.
