IGNOU offers Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application course for the July academic session. The application process will be completed online/offline with a fee of INR 300 (non-refundable). IGNOU offers PGDCA courses with a duration of 1 Year. The total fee for the course is INR 21,600.

Students with a bachelor’s degree and mathematics in the 12th grade can apply to this course. Students applying to IGNOU should prioritise obtaining their DEB ID. Identification is needed for completing the admission process and receiving important updates regarding their courses.

This program is a thorough study of the subjects that are relevant in the computer application domain. Students study programming-specific theory subjects like C, Python and Data Structure. They also get to engage in the practical classes with subjects like Windows and Linux Lab, Data Structure Lab. For Practical classes, IGNOU Regional Centre helps provide space and utilities like computers and desktops. Students who have a bachelor’s degree and mathematics as one of the subjects in their 12th class meet the IGNOU PGDCA eligibility criteria. These students do not require any additional courses, and they are selected on the basis of the merit of their UG scores.

However, if a student does not have mathematics as one of their UG or 12th class courses, students can still apply after completing a graduate-level mathematical bridge course.

IGNOU PGDCA Fee

Course fee for IGNOU PGDCA is INR 21,600/-. This fee is payable at the start of each PGDCA semester. For students who need IGNOU PGDCA bridge courses, an extra fee of INR 1,400/- is to be paid.

Distance education admission at IGNOU demands INR 200/- as the University Development Fee. It is necessary to make this payment for the completion of the IGNOU admission process 2026. Fee is accepted via online channels like UPI, credit card, debit card etc.

IGNOU also allows students to pay the fee offline at IGNOU regional centres. These centres help students in offline IGNOU admissions and services. During the offline admission process, students can pay the fee offline at the IGNOU regional centres.

• Register and make a new admission account. Use a valid email and mobile number.
• Use the new login to open the IGNOU admission portal for PGDCA.

IGNOU PGDCA Examination Pattern

IGNOU PGDCA admission follows a semester system with two terms per year. Each course is evaluated through assignments (30% weightage) and term-end examinations (70% weightage). The term-end exams are typically held at the end of the academic semester in June and December.

Students must submit assignments before appearing for the term-end exams. Students can submit IGNOU assignments in 2 ways. They can either reach to the regional centre website and bring a google form there. The exams usually consist of both theory and practical components, testing your understanding of computer application concepts and programming skills. • Continuous Assessment: 30% of your grade comes from assignments submitted throughout the semester.
