IGNOU BSc Admission 2026
IGNOU BSc admission will begin soon for the 2026 session. Those candidates who want to take admission can apply through the IGNOU official portal. IGNOU BSc Admission 2026 last date to apply is 30 June 2026*. The students with a 10+2 grade certification can apply online for the BSc course. Admission is based on merit score. The applicants must apply online with the required document details to avoid application rejection.
Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) accepts applications for the BSc program 2 times a year. First in July and second in July. Both online and distance students can fill out the admission form online through the IGNOU website or can visit the nearest regional centre.

IGNOU BSc Admission Eligibility Criteria
The basic admission eligibility criteria for the IGNOU BSc course are a 12th pass certification in the science stream. The applicants just need to pass their education (no minimum marks required). The 12th qualification should be in a board recognised by IGNOU. These include state boards like Madhya Pradesh School Board, Delhi School Board, CBSE, ICSE, etc. There is no age limit for an IGNOU candidate. Admissions are open for all age groups of students who meet these eligibility criteria.

IGNOU BSc Fee structure also contains some other charges. Students must also submit an application fee. During the online form submission. IGNOU will collect Rs. 300/- from every candidate to process the online form. Every semester after admission, IGNOU needs re-registration charges of Rs. 200/- per course. An exam form fee of Rs. 200/- for theory subjects and Rs. 300/- for practical subjects is also necessary.

- Step 2: Register by clicking on “New Registration”.
- Step 3: Provide personal email id and mobile number. New username and password will be emailed to the given email ID.
- Step 4: Enter details and start filling out the IGNOU BSc admission form. Enter all the details one by one, i.e., full name, DOB, contact details, and education details.
- Step 5: Select the course and specialization for admission.

- Step 1: Visit the BSc IGNOU offline centre.

IGNOU BSc Course Structure
IGNOU’s BSc course syllabus and curriculum is developed by IGNOU in-house teachers and industry experts from various universities. IGNOU BSc program has a total of 132 credits and students need to finish all of these credits. Each credit of BSc is equal to 30 Hours of study time. The IGNOU BSc program has 2 semesters and in each semester, students must complete at least 22 credits. Students need to reach 132 credits.
Students get to study various kind of subjects. They can pick: Ability Enhancement courses, Discipline Specific Courses, Interdisciplinary courses, and Value Added Courses. These different courses give students an all round education.
IGNOU BSc General
To provide higher education in scientific field and prepare students for employment IGNOU provides BSc General program. In this program there is no one specialization that students study. Rather they can choose 3 subjects out of 7 BSc specializations. Subjects offered by the IGNOU BSc program are:

IGNOU BSc Anthropology
Indira Gandhi National Open University Bachelor of Science in Geology is a 3 to 4-year undergraduate program that focuses on equipping students with the knowledge of earth science. The program includes subjects that are related to the properties of the Earth’s surface and celestial bodies, such as meteors. To take admission to this course, complete 10+2 examinations with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Also, there is no minimum age for pursuing this course.
IGNOU BSc Biochemistry
The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry is a specialized 3-year undergraduate course. Students build on their skills in writing and laboratory practices with the help of IGNOU assignments and contact classes. This course introduces the main themes of Biochemistry with subjects like Cell Biology, Enzymes, Gene Organization, Replication and Repair Laboratory, etc. The IGNOU BSc syllabus also has inter-disciplinary subjects, which make students ready for further research and professional tasks.
Indira Gandhi National Open University does not conduct any entrance exam for this program and there is no age limit for pursuing this BSc Biochemistry. Any age candidate can apply for this program.
IGNOU Fee Refund
Admission cancellation for BSc courses for enrolled students is allowed at IGNOU. Students can get 100% fee refund. If the admission process is cancelled before the final admission list. Although, if students wait till the confirmation of admission, they will have to bear a fine of 15% on the course fee.
This refund process must be completed before the end of 60 days after the BSc admission last date. IGNOU offers no refund after the 60 days period
