IGNOU Online CLIS Admission 2025
IGNOU has opened the admission window for Online Program CLIS for the January 2025 academic session. Students with 12th pass or IGNOU BPP qualification can apply for online CLIS admission. Certificate Programme in Library and Information Science (CLIS) is a 6-month programme that aims to develop library management skills of students. This course is made keeping in mind the library staff of India, especially of rural libraries.
Students will learn the effective management of libraries and information centers. IGNOU CLIS programme teaches effective use of IT techniques and skills for library management. Students get online learning materials, live online classes, and assignments in this programme. This IGNOU librarian certificate course is taught in English. However students can submit their IGNOU CLIS assignments in Hindi as well.
Eligibility for IGNOU Online CLIS
Students must be 12th pass for CLIS online eligibility criteria. This IGNOU course is offered at the certificate level for every age group. Students must know either English or Hindi as CLIS is offered in these two languages.
IGNOU Online CLIS Programme Fee Structure
CLIS is a 6-month online course. This course accepts online fee payment with options like UPI, credit card, debit card, and net banking. Indian students need to pay INR 3,000/- for this certificate course. This amount only covers the online academic fee.
IGNOU fee structure is different for international students. SAARC students have to pay INR 5,000/- for the complete CLIS online programme. Similarly, IGNOU online CLIS fee for other international students is US $ 300/-. These fee amounts are the academic fee for the CLIS programme.
Apart from academic fee, during the term end examination IGNOU collects fee for the IGNOU exam form. For theory CLIS subjects this fee is Rs. 200/-. Practical subject exam form fee is Rs. 300/-.
IGNOU Online CLIS Application Form 2025
CLIS application forms are available online on the official admission portal for IGNOU online courses. To access the application form, students must first register on the registration portal. For that IGNOU has provided official admission link on the official IGNOU website. The registration fee for the CLIS course is Rs. 300 for the January session. Students can apply for this course twice a year (January and July month). The application is available for CLIS during Admission session of January 2025 @ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
IGNOU CLIS Online Admission Process
Step 1: To start the admission process students can visit official IGNOU online courses website @ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
Step 2: On the home page students can see “Apply Now” button. They can click it.
Step 3: Two options open one for “International” and other for “Indian” students. Select the appropriate one.
Step 4: Registration portal will now open. Student must register with their name, email, and mobile number to form an admission account.
Step 5: A new username is formed and the credentials are sent to the registered email ID.
Step 6: Login with the new account.
Step 7: Start filling in the details in the admission form on the screen.
Step 8: Select the subject as CLIS under the subject section.
Step 9: Upload documents that IGNOU require for the online CLIS admission process.
Step 10: Pay application fee online using modes such as UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, etc.
Step 11: Submit the IGNOU admission form.
Documents Needed for Verification
- Educational documents – 10th and 12th mark sheets, or equivalent diploma (if needed).
- Identifications – IDs like aadhaar card, driving license (if available) etc are required.
- Photographs – Passport size colored photographs.
- Category Documents – For reserved category students.
- Experience Letter – Work experience is not necessary but if student have an experience letter they can use it during the admission process.

IGNOU Online CLIS Study Material
Candidates no longer need to visit their regional or study centres to receive study materials or submit assignments, as the online program eliminates this requirement. Everything you need for your courses and lectures will be available online, whether it’s for a class or a lecture.
Students are strongly urged to obtain the necessary study materials from the eGyanKosh website and to submit their assignments by emailing them to the email address that the University supplies. egyankosh.ac.in.
IGNOU CLIS Assignment 2025
To help students practice the course curriculum IGNOU provides assignments for every semester. After the IGNOU CLIS admission process 2025-26, university will release the assignment online on the official website @ignou.ac.in. These assignments will be available as downloadable PDF files. CLIS assignments are also used to evaluate the 30% marks in the final IGNOU marks report and grade card of IGNOU students.
There is a deadline set for the submission of IGNOU assignments. CLIS students will have to submit their assignments before this date. Late submission will result in the rejection of CLIS assignments and they will not be considered for the final evaluation. Last date to submit IGNOU CLIS assignment is March 31st, 2025*.
It is also important to submit CLIS assignments on time to appear in the IGNOU CLIS term end examinations (TEEs). Exam forms are available to only those CLIS students who have completed and submitted a decided number of IGNOU CLIS assignments.

IGNOU Exam Form 2025
Indira Gandhi National Open University has closed the Exam form submission portal for the Online CLIS program. Students can fill out their IGNOU Exam Form with a late fee of INR 1,100. Form submission can be online at the university’s official portal @exam.ignou.ac.in or offline at the nearest regional/study centre.
