IGNOU MCA Admission 2026: The University will soon start the application process for the Master of Computer Applications program in the July 2026 session. IGNOU offers a 2-year MCA program to interested and eligible candidates. The application form can be filled out online from the official website. The last date to apply for admission will be 31 May 2026*. The admission eligibility requirement is a BCA degree or an equivalent computer degree from a recognised University. Students can also apply with a BA in Mathematics after completing bridge courses in Programming and Data Structures. Applications are accepted online with an application fee of Rs. 300/-.

Total course fee for IGNOU MCA is Rs. 52,000/-. The syllabus contains IGNOU MCA subjects like Data Structures, Artificial Intelligence, Database Management Systems, and Web Technologies. IGNOU MCA Admission 2026 will begin soon for the July session. Interested aspirants can submit the admission form by visiting the official website, and the deadline will be 31 May 2026*. IGNOU MCA eligibility requires a complete  bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree. The University will start accepting the registration forms for the MCA course admission through the official website @ignou.ac.in. The students can apply online for IGNOU MCA with a form fee of INR 300. The Professional MCA distance education course at IGNOU offers subjects in programming, data structures, software engineering, etc.

IGNOU MCA Admission Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible for IGNOU MCA course admission, students need to complete their graduation in BCA or its equivalent form any UGC or UGC DEB approved University. MCA is a technical degree. It is required for the students to have technical knowledge and understanding for this PG-level degree. Students must be a BCA or BTec/BSc (Computer Science) graduate to meet the IGNOU MCA eligibility criteria.

However, students can also apply if they have studied mathematics as one of their subjects in a bachelor’s degree, like BSc, BCom, and BA. Such students can apply after completing bridge courses. IGNOU MCA admission 2026 requires two bridge courses for such students:

2. MCS-208 (Data Structure and Algorithm)

IGNOU MCA Fee Structure

Course fee for IGNOU Master of Computer Application is Rs. 12,700/- per semester. This is a 4 semester course therefore, the total fee for this distance education degree to be paid is Rs. 50,800/-. Students have to pay extra Rs. 1000/- per bridge course if they require them.

Apart from the academic fees, IGNOU also has other expenses that need to be taken care of. Students will have to pay an IGNOU application fee of Rs. 300/-. At the time of IGNOU online MCA application this fee is collected. Similarly, if the student is selected for admission, they will have to pay a university development fee. This amounts to Rs. 400/-. This is a one time payment which is paid just before the IGNOU admission.

IGNOU MCA Duration

Students must complete an MCA degree form IGNOU in a minimum of 2 years duration. An extension of two more years is offered if students fail to complete the course in this set duration. MCA learners can take a maximum of 4 years to complete the PG degree program.

IGNOU MCA Online Application Process

• Go to the online admission portal of IGNOU. There are multiple IGNOU admission portals for different modes of admissions. For ODL courses go to @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
• Make a new account and get a username and password for the admission portal by clicking on “New Registration“
• Login to IGNOU admission portal to start the MCA admission process 2026.
• Start entering details that are asked in the IGNOU application form.
• Select MCA as the subject when prompted.
• Upload the documents required.
• Pay the application fee online. IGNOU accepts online payment options like credit card, debit card, and UPI, etc.

IGNOU MCA Course Structure

The syllabus for IGNOU’s MCA course is divided into 4 semesters. During the 1st semester, there are 7 subjects, and during the remaining 5 semesters, there are 6 subjects. IGNOU MCA Term End Examination

IGNOU has started the exam form submission for the MCA program to appear in the June Term-end examination. Students can submit their exam forms by visiting the university’s official portal @exam.ignou.ac.in. They must submit the exam form to appear in the MCA June TEE.

Before the exam date, students will get the IGNOU Hall Ticket. It will be released for MCA candidates who have submitted their assignments on time. MCA Results are released 1 month after the last IGNOU exams. Students can download their MCA grade card from the official IGNOU website.

IGNOU MCA Assignment 2026

Indira Gandhi National Open University has started taking MCA students’ assignments for the June TEE. Those students who want to appear in the December TEE have to submit their assignments before the last date, and all applicable topics are covered as per the IGNOU University guidelines.

IGNOU assignments carry 30% marks for the final IGNOU MCA grade card. IGNOU opens the assignment submission portal before the December Term-end examination. However, students can also use the offline IGNOU regional centre services to submit assignments before the deadline.

• Prepare the offline assignment. Complete the required questions.

IGNOU MCA Fee Refund

Admission cancellation for MCA courses for enrolled students is allowed at IGNOU. Students can get 100% fee refund if the admission process is cancelled before the final admission list. If students wait till the confirmation of admission, they will have to incur a fine of 15% on the course fee.

This refund process must be completed before the end of 60 days after the MCA admission last date. IGNOU offers no refund after the 60 days period.

How to Apply for IGNOU MCA Fee Refund

• Open the MCA admission registration email.
• Prepare a mail. Write the reason for IGNOU MCA admission cancellation.
• Mention MCA enrollment number. Write name of the course (Master of Computer Application) and course code (MCA).
• Send it to canceladms@ignou.ac.in.
• IGNOU will initiate the fee refund.
