IGNOU BA Economics Admission 2026: The University will open its admission portal for the BA Economics course in the July academic session. The last date of admission will be 15 May 2026 for IGNOU BA Economics. The University will accept admission forms for the BA Economics program through the @ignou.ac.in official website. The re-registration process for this program is also ongoing, and the applicants can enrol at @onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.

Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a 3-year program at IGNOU. Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a distance education 3-year undergraduate degree. It is available for admission in the July 2026 session. IGNOU BA Economics Eligibility Criteria

BA Economics honours eligibility in IGNOU requires students to have completed their 12th-grade education from a recognised board. There is no age limit for admission. Students can apply for admission before the final deadline, and there is no entrance examination for the 2026 academic year. Admissions will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

IGNOU BA Economics Fee Structure

Total programme fee for 3-years BA Economics course is Rs. 15,900/-. This fee is payable as a per-semester fee of Rs. 2,650/-. If this course is extended to make it an Honours degree, the total course fee rises to Rs. 15,900/-. Students also need to pay an additional university development fee of Rs. 300/- after selection. Online IGNOU application fee is Rs. 300/- for BA Economics. This application fee is non refundable.

IGNOU Fee Refund Policy for BA Economics

IGNOU applicants can decide to cancel their BA Economics admission and get a fee refund. To apply for a fee refund application should be made within 60 days of the last day of admission in 2026. If the admission process is stopped before the final selection of the candidate, a 100% fee refund on the deposited amount is made. However BA Economics application fee is non-refundable.

Applying for a fee refund after the final selection is made gives student a fine of 15%. This fine is collected on the course fee rather than the deposited fee. But the maximum amount for this fine is Rs. 2,000/-. After 60 days have passed from the BA Economics last date of registration no fee refund is made.

IGNOU BA Economics Examination Pattern

June Term end examination (TEE) for BA Economics will be conducted at end of July session. These exams are subjective type papers that are organized by IGNOU in various exam centres. Students get chance to fill the IGNOU exam forms 1 month before the start of the term end examinations.  Students need to have completed a minimum number of assignments to be eligible for IGNOU BA Economics exam forms. No exam form will be accepted after the last date of exam form filling.

June term end examination carries 70% weightage in the final grade card. Rest of the 30% marks are given on the performance of students in IGNOU assignments.
