Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced admissions for the January 2025 session. Students can enroll in a variety of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) courses across certificate, diploma, and degree programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Although both ODL and Online mode of programme do not have regular physical classes, but there are a few differences between them.

IGNOU 2025 Courses
IGNOU initiated admission for all Online and ODL (UG, PG, Certificate, and Diploma) level courses in the 2025-26 January academic session. Students must be eligible for their desired course from any recognized educational board or university. Applicants must pay the registration/application form fee of INR 300 for all programs.
IGNOU Samarth Portal is designed for the online admission process, but to submit an offline admission form, applicants must go to one of the university’s authorized regional centers. The admission form must be accurately filled out before submission so that the admissions department might not cancel the admission of applied students.
On the IGNOU January Admission page, students will find all the important information. Students are admitted to the university based on their prior academic records, according to the IGNOU prospectus. Students must check out the IGNOU Course List before completing the application form.

IGNOU BEd Admission 2025
IGNOU BEd admission will start from January 2025. This course provide professional training in the theory and practical skill of primary education. Students learn the concept of learning theory and curriculum building. With the help of IGNOU study centres they participate in practical classes for BEd practicals.
IGNOU has various assignments and project work in BEd course. Students will be required to register for an IGNOU entrance examination for BEd course. Entrance exam forms can be found on the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in.
IGNOU PG Admission 2025
Indira Gandhi National Open University opened the admission portal for Postgraduate courses in the January 2025 academic session. Admission forms are available on the official website of the university @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. IGNOU application fee is INR 300 for all the IGNOU PG programs. This fee is accepted while filling out application forms. IGNOU PG course’s academic fees start from INR 8,400 and goes to INR 45,000.

- MSc in Food Safety and Quality Management: Admission to the PG degree program in food safety and quality management is only open to applicants with a graduate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, agriculture, food science, or food technology.
- MSc in Renewable Energy and Environment: Graduation in Engineering, Architecture, Science, or Computer Applications is ideal for admission to MSc in Renewable Energy and Environment.

IGNOU MBA Admission January Session

For the new session, Indira Gandhi National Open University decided not to conduct any entrance tests for MBA admission. IGNOU has revised its admission criteria for the MBA (Banking and Finance) program.
- Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks, no prior experience is needed.
- IGNOU MBA Fee: The per semester fee for the MBA program at IGNOU is Rs 15,500.

IGNOU 2025 Fee Refund
It is also possible that a student may decide to not continue their IGNOU admission process. Foreseeing this IGNOU has an admission cancellation policy for the 2025 January process. This includes the process of fee refund and admission cancellation application. Admission can be cancelled online using the student portal. Students can use admission login to notify IGNOU if they decide to opt out of the admission process 2025. However, the amount of fee refunded will depend on the time of cancellation. This is governed by the fee refund policy of IGNOU.

How to Apply for IGNOU Fee Refund
Step 1: Enrolled students should open the registered email account. Fee refund request can only be made from same email account as used during IGNOU admission 2025.
Step 2: Send a mail to @canceladms@ignou.ac.in citing Enrollement number, Candidate’s Name, and Programme Name.
Step 3: Make sure the mail is sent before 60 days end from the IGNOU admission last date.
Step 4: Send the mail and wait for reply from IGNOU.
What is the Enrollment Number in IGNOU?
Students receive their enrollment numbers after paying the admission fee online through the Indira Gandhi National University admission portal after receiving an 11-digit code. Applicants can use this 11-digit number to contact IGNOU for grievances or queries.
It is easy for students to check their admission status on the website. Upon completing the online registration process, the University’s administration uploads the merit list on the website. IGNOU Result 2025
Results for all IGNOU subjects are displayed online on the official IGNOU website. December 2025 TEE final results are out for early viewing. IGNOU students who need the their results early can go to the results portal and see their term end examination results. During the hiring process of various jobs IGNOU students may need to submit the final year mark sheet for evaluation. Result for the term end examination (TEE) is displayed for students in the IGNOU grade card. Students can download their grade card using the web portal by IGNOU @gradecard.ignou.ac.in/gradecard. This grade card works as the mark sheet of IGNOU semesters. They contain the candidate’s details like enrollment number and name. Academic details like programme code and marks obtained are also displayed on the IGNOU grade card. Students can download their grade card for each subject separately.

Step 1: Visit the IGNOU web portal for grade card.
Step 2: Enter the enrollment number. This number can be found on the IGNOU admit card.

IGNOU Regional Centres
To support distance education students, IGNOU has made regional centres and study centres a part of its course. Regional centres are zonal buildings that provide administrative support to students. It provides many features like computer labs, library service, & audio video library. These services help students in their distance education journey. On top of this, students also get admission and re registration IGNOU offline services. During the semester change students get the chance to fill the re registration form and IGNOU admission form. This can be completed offline at the IGNOU regional centre.
IGNOU regional centres (RCs) govern smaller study centres in their zone. RC organizes the contact classes schedule for IGNOU study centres. It looks after the successful completion of these one-to-one sessions between students and IGNOU teachers. IGNOU Contact Classes
After taking admissions in IGNOU classes students get a chance to interact with students regarding doubt clearing in IGNOU contact classes.
