There are multiple entry and exit options available for the distance IGNOU programme. Students can also check their admission status for the IGNOU July Session online after the registration process.
IGNOU students get study material in online or printed format, depending on their choice. To support distance education and online courses, IGNOU also offers contact classes to enrolled students. These classes are conducted at IGNOU study centres and regional centres. Assignments will be used to help students study their course well. To get the assignments, students can visit either the study centre and get the printed form on an A4 sheet. There is also an online assignment portal ready for students to download the PDF format of IGNOU assignments.
These IGNOU centres also help in the offline admission process for various IGNOU PG, UG, and other Diploma and certificate courses. Assignments are also given to enrolled students every semester.
Eligibility for IGNOU Admission 2026
- For IGNOU UG admission, students must have a 12th qualification from any recognized educational board. There is no minimum percentage requirement for admission.
- IGNOU PG admission 2026 July Session eligibility criteria require a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream. Students must produce a degree from a relevant university.
- To pursue the IGNOU Diploma and Certificate level courses, students must have a 10+2 from a recognized board. Some courses at the certificate level are available after 10th class only. These diploma and certificate courses are skill-based IGNOU short term courses. They last for only 6 months to 1 year in duration.
- Admission in 2026-27 IGNOU courses is directly merit-based for all courses (except BEd, PBScN, and PhD). An entrance exam is conducted for BEd, Post Basic Nursing (PBScn), and PhD.

IGNOU Admission Fees Structure 2026
- UG course fees at IGNOU range between Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000 per year. Similarly, for the 2026 July IGNOU session, Certificate course students pay between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 18,000.
- Average PG course fees at IGNOU are in the range Rs.10,000 to Rs.31,000 per year. This amount is accepted through the online IGNOU student login 2026.
Apart from these academic fees, IGNOU application fee of Rs. 300/- is paid online. This is a one time payment and it is non-refundable. IGNOU Admission 2026-27 Process
- Visit the official website of the IGNOU ODL admission.
- Open the “New Registration” link.
- Fill up the basic details.
- Lastly, click on the Register button.

- A username and password are created for IGNOU admission login and sent to the registered email.

IGNOU BEd admission has started on 28 January 2026, and the last date to apply is set as 27 February 2026. Master of Commerce distance education is a two year masters programme. Students can apply after passing the eligibility criteria of a bachelor’s degree.
