IGNOU MLIS Admission 2026
Indira Gandhi National Open University commenced its admission process for the Master’s Degree Programme in Library and Information Science. The last date of IGNOU MLIS admission 2026 is 15 July 2026 for the July cycle. The application form process must be completed online at the @ignou.ac.in official website. The application fee for the MLIS course is INR 300. The admission eligibility requirement is a bachelor’s degree in the library science stream or an associate’s degree from DRTC or NISCAIR. Admission to the MLLIS course is conducted online through direct merit-based admission. Those applicants who want to pursue the MLIS program don’t need to appear in any kind of entrance examination. IGNOU MLIS Fee
IGNOU MLIS academic fee is Rs. 12,000/- for the full program. This fee covers the 1 year academic fee of this distance MLIS programme. Application fee for IGNOU MLIS online admission is Rs. 300. This fee is collected for the online MLIS application. Apart from these fee structures, MLIS students will also have to pay Rs. 400/- at the end of the admission process as the University Development fee. This fee is to be paid one time while finalizing the IGNOU MLIS admission.
IGNOU MLIS Admission Process
Students will have to go through a 3-step admission process. For 2026 MLIS admission, students should:
Submit the Online Application: Students should visit the online admission portal for distance education and fill in the online application form.
Check the Merit List: There is no entrance exam for the MLIS course. IGNOU will release the list of selected candidates and contact them for admission.
Verify Documents: All documents of candidates will be verified by the university to check the authenticity of students. For this selected students will be called in to IGNOU centers for completing the admission process.

IGNOU MLIS Assignments
IGNOU Assignment submission has started for the MLIS course for the December Term-end examination 2026. For students who are pursuing the IGNOU MLIS course, it is essential to submit assignments for all compulsory subjects.
The grades obtained in these assignments will be taken into the final result preparation process. It is important to note that students who cannot submit their assignments will not be permitted to appear in the December term-end examination in 2026.

IGNOU MLIS Examination Pattern Information
The evaluation of the MLIS degree program consists of two elements: continuous evaluation and term-end examination.
The term-end examination takes place twice every year (December and June).
The continuous evaluation comprises 30% whereas the term-end examination comprises 70% of the overall aggregate.
In dissertation projects, obtaining 50% marks is a must to pass the course.
The overall aggregate must be at least division 3, i.e., 40% and above to pass this course.
The semester exam questions come in both Hindi and English medium as per the student’s choice.
The questions test student’s proficiency in the subject and mainly come in the subjective type.
IGNOU MLIS Exam Form
IGNOU exam form has been started at the IGNOU Regional Centres and the IGNOU Exam portal for the MLIS program. Students can submit the Exam Form in both offline and online modes. For offline submission, students can fill out the exam form by visiting the nearby regional centre.
