IGNOU BTech Admission 2026: The Bachelor of Technology program is a 4-year technical UG course. This 4-year program offers subjects like Engineering Mathematics, Digital Electronics, Communication Systems, and Control Engineering. The applicants can choose specialisation in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc. IGNOU does not provide courses like B.Tech. IGNOU will soon start accepting application forms for other courses like BA, BCom, BSc, MBA, MSW, MA, and more for the July academic year. The last date of admission will be 15 May 2026 at IGNOU, and the students will be able to apply online via the official website @ignou.ac.in.

Eligibility requires a 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates can apply online. The application fee for the IGNOU B.Tech admission process is INR 300, and the course fee is around INR 100,000 per year. Graduating from this course, you can pursue careers in software engineering, electronics, or IT.

• IGNOU BTech admission window for the July academic year is likely to open on 25 April 2026. The samarth portal will accept the admission forms till 15 May 2026.

IGNOU does not provide BTech course in the Current session, as the University does have approvel from AICTE.

Admission process for 4 year BTech undergrduate degree program at IGNOU is going to commence soon for eligible candidates. The application form will be available online at the official website. IGNOU provides courses in distance and online modes of education. B.Tech is a technical degree in multiple domains which include Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. University Grant Commission (UGC) has prohibited BTech in distance education mode. For admission into the program, candidates are required to have completed the 12th grade from a discipline board in the stream of science with mandatory subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with a minimum score of 50% or the equivalent.

IGNOU B.Tech Admission Application Form 2026

As IGNOU does not offer a BTech course, application form is available on the official web portal for other distance education and online courses. 

• First of all, go to the admission portal. ignou.ac.in/ 
• Candidates can sign up on the page by creating a username and password.
• After registration, click on the “Login” button and enter the same username and password you set before.
• After this, enter all the details carefully.
• Once you enter all the information and upload the required documents, click on the submit button.
• Preview your form and check everything in detail and take a printout of the form.

The applicants who want to submit the application form offline, have to mail the application form to the respective Regional Center’s address for IGNOU B.Tech Admission.

Before 2020 IGNOU used to offer a BTech course. Therefore it has prepared modules for online and distance education. IGNOU B.Tech Assignments

Students can submit B.Tech assignments on the Indira Gandhi National Open University portal in the first week of October for the December Term-end exam in 2026. Students who have assignments for their subjects can submit them on the university portal or at the nearest Regional and Study Center.

The IGNOU evaluates the performance of students based on their assignments and final exams. Assignments account for 30% of the final grade. Assignments are one of the most important parts of the grade. In order to achieve maximum marks in the course, students must submit all their assignments on time.
