IGNOU BCA Admission 2026: IGNOU admission for the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) will initiate soon for the July academic year. The admission is merit-based and processed on a first-come, first-served basis. It is a 3-year IGNOU undergraduate program. The last date to apply for BCA fresh admissions at IGNOU will be 15 May 2026* in the July academic batch. The desired applicants to pursue this course can apply online at @ignou.ac.in. Eligibility for BCA requires 12th from a recognised board with no minimum percentage. IGNOU BCA course fee is INR 8,300 per semester. IGNOU will open the admission portal for the BCA course for the July session. Students can complete the admission procedure by visiting the official portal of the university @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Students will be given facilities like study centres and BCA learning materials for enrolled students. IGNOU BCA assignments will be given every semester to students. These are important for grading and exam form eligibility. BCA semesters will end with term-end examinations for BCA course. 

BCA Course has many career opportunities in fields such as database management, operating systems development, software engineering, and web technology. Students learn to use programming languages (C, C++, HTML, Java, etc.) to develop software for business problem-solving. Eligibility Criteria For IGNOU BCA Admission

IGNOU candidates must be 12th pass to meet the eligibility criteria for the BCA 2026 July admission. State school boards and national school boards like UP Board, Bihar Board, Delhi School Board, CBSE, ICSE, etc are accepted. 

Students must meet these BCA eligibility criteria to be able to access the syllabus and placement opportunities provided by IGNOU. All admissions to IGNOU BCA courses are merit-based. IGNOU does not conduct any entrance exams and has no age limit for pursuing the BCA course.

IGNOU BCA Course Fees

The total fees for the BCA program at IGNOU are Rs. 49,800. The program consists of six semesters, and students need to pay the fees on a semester basis. The BCA IGNOU fees per semester are Rs. 8,300.

During the IGNOU admission process, students have to deposit a University Development Fee of Rs. 200/-. This is necessary to complete the BCA admission process.

• Go to ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in (IGNOU ODL admission Website).
• Click on new registration.
  
• Submit the details like name and email for a new IGNOU username and password.
• New login credentials will be sent to the inbox of the registered email. 
• Got to the admission portal again and login with your created credentials. 
• Fill out your admission form and upload documents.
  
• Pay IGNOU application fee for the BCA programme.
• Submit the form and take a printout of the acknowledgement.

IGNOU BCA admission process can also be completed offline in the IGNOU regional centre. This service is provided for students not able to access internet for any reason. Other students can also apply offline by following the steps below:

• Step 1: Visit the IGNOU Regional Centre, and go to the student service cell.
• Step 2: Collect the application form with the prospectus.
• Step 3: Fill in all the required sections.

IGNOU BCA Fee Refund

To keep the admission process transparent and helpful to students, IGNOU provides fee refund options to its students. Those applicants who wish to cancel their BCA admission can notify IGNOU and apply for a fee refund. There are IGNOU policies in place to help students get their fees back. However, there are a few points to be taken care of. Students should apply for cancellation of admission before 60 days of the closing of IGNOU admissions. Otherwise students will not get any refund.

Note:There will be no refund of the IGNOU BCA application fee.

IGNOU BCA Syllabus

BCA Syllabus consists of subjects like Principles of Management, Mathematics, Financial Accounting & Management, Data Structures, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Open Source Technology, Introduction to Linux, with labs, Projects and internships.

IGNOU BCA Assignment

Assignments are the set of practice questions that IGNOU distributes for its courses. IGNOU BCA course also gets its assignment after the completion of BCA admission 2026-27. These assignments are given as PDFs on the official IGNOU website. Students can download these using their devices, or they can also contact the IGNOU regional centre to get a printed copy of these assignments.

These IGNOU assignments are a collection of both short and long subjective questions. Students get questions targeted to increasing their practical understanding of BCA concepts. These assignments are time bound, meaning they must be submitted before a given deadline. 

How to Download the BCA Assignment PDF?

• Step 1: Visit the IGNOU Website.
• Step 2: There are many sections given on the taskbar. Click on the “Student Services“.
• Step 3: Search for the “Download” menu. This is given for students to access IGNOU BCA downloadable content.
• Step 4: Link for “Current Assignment Portal” will appear in a list. Click on the list.
• Step 5: Search for the BCA assignment subject code.
• Step 6: Download the assignment as a PDF file on the device.

How to Submit a BCA Assignment

IGNOU accepts online submission of assignments. For direct assignment submission, IGNOU releases Google Forms. Students can fill these Google Forms with their details like subject code, name, subject name, etc and submit it online. Link for assignment submission can be found on the official website of IGNOU regional centre.

In addition to the online submission, IGNOU also accepts offline BCA assignment submissions. To avail offline IGNOU assignment service, students can visit their assigned Regional or Study Centers. They accept assignment submissions if they are properly made, i.e, assignments should be handwritten, properly spiral bound with a front page, and they should be submitted before the last date. Deadline for offline assignment submission is the same as online submission.

Students must ensure that all IGNOU assignments have been submitted or uploaded as per the IGNOU guidelines. Students must secure at least 30 % marks on all their tasks. Without submitting the assignments, students could not appear in the IGNOU Term-end examinations.

BCA IGNOU Exam Form

Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the examinations in two academic sessions in June and December. Students can submit the BCA New IGNOU Exam Form before the last date by visiting the official portal of the university @exam.ignou.ac.in.

Examination forms are also accepted offline. At the regional centres, students can use the service cell, which will help students to submit the offline exam forms. If any students fail to submit the examination form before the deadline. He/she will not be allowed to sit in the Term End Examination. The last date of the exam form submission will soon be released by the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

IGNOU BCA Term End Exam

IGNOU Date Sheet has been released for the IGNOU BCA June Term-end examination 2026. Students can check the date sheet for more information. IGNOU results for the BCA program will be announced after the exam.  Before appearing for the final exams, students must download the admit card. IGNOU Bachelor of Computer Applications Study Materials 

There are study materials available for the IGNOU BCA program on the E-Gyankosh portal. In addition, you can download the same from E-Gyankosh, a Google Play app. Digital study materials are free of charge. Study materials can also be ordered in hard copy. Paper-based study materials are available to students upon admission. Hard copies will only be sent to those who have paid the included fee for BCA (IGNOU) study materials.

Offline IGNOU BCA Learning Material

During the admission process, BCA candidate can opt to get the printed study material for their course from the regional centre or via post. Both these procedures are allowed. During the online BCA IGNOU application, students will have to select which way they want to get their assignments. Offline study material is more expensive than online BCA study material.
