IGNOU New Agriculture Course: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in its latest media release dated 25th April 2023 announced that it has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) at CMA Bhawan, Lodhi Road, New Delhi for jointly developing an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) program titled “Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management”.
As per the official statement released on IGNOU’s website, the IGNOU new agriculture course in online distance learning mode aims to cater the awareness and knowledge in the area of agricultural cost management. This would be achieved by imparting knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities to the communities involved in farming/agriculture.

Through this programme, IGNOU aims at benefiting progressive farmers, youth interested in agriculture, small and medium enterprises, workers, etc. The MoU will act as an instrument in achieving the institute’s objective of reaching the unreached. The official MoU was signed by the higher officials of the two institutions which include Dr. Alok Chaube, Registrar (Administration), IGNOU, and CMA Vijender Sharma, President, ICMAI.
IGNOU remains the ideal institution for such programmes and through this ODL programme it aims to impart knowledge to the people in the agricultural sector. This collaboration between the institutes will help in strengthening the Government’s effort of educating the farmers and improving their income.
