The dual degree programmes at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) started in the current academic year. The news is confirmed by an official tweet from the IGNOU Regional Centre in Karnal.
This will give students permission to study for a second degree while also pursuing a specific degree from another university. Such students can enroll in distance learning as well as online programs offered as dual degree programmes by IGNOU.
- The IGNOU has begun fresh admissions for the July 2022 session on May 30. Applications must be submitted by September 30.
- Registration for IGNOU's July 2022 session begins; applications are due by 30 September 2022
- IGNOU has extended the Re-registration date for july 2022 session until 30 September 2022.
- The IGNOU has extended the Assignment Submission deadline for June TEE 2022 until 30 June 2022.
Note: IGNOU Admission for July session 2022 is on going, the last date to apply is 9 September 2022.
The decision of offering Dual degree courses was made at the 78th academic council/meeting, where it was announced that this would apply to both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

In the meeting, it was made clear that students who have been admitted to a dual degree program cannot request a change in the exam dates in the event that the dates for the exams for the two degrees conflict. There won't be any adjustments made to the exam dates.
