The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force to facilitate the recognition of in-service skill education and training for Agniveers and facilitate the award of skill-based bachelor's degrees. Under this framework, it will take a least three years and a maximum of six years to finish a bachelor's degree, and the minimum requirement for entry into a BA or B.Com program is a 10+2 grade level education or its equivalent. 10+2 in the science stream is required to qualify for admission to the B.Sc. program.
IGNOU Admission For Agniveers
Agniveers may now be admitted using a special online admissions portal at https://ignou-defence.samarth.edu.in/. The online admission system allows for the submission of the admission forms. In addition to submitting the Admission Form, prospective students must manually create a user ID and password to get into the system and upload the necessary files.
According to IGNOU, in order to get a bachelor's degree through this program, Agniveers must earn a total of 120 credits, including both the skill component delivered by the IA/IN/IAF and the courses taken under the IGNOU component.

Students looking for admission to the Agnivver of Armed Forces can apply for Bachelor's Degree Programmes at IGNOU. Applicants can visit the admission portal at https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for distance learning courses. For online program admission, students can visit the official website at https://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in. Applicants must belong to serving defence families to become eligible for these courses.

- Applicants can visit the official website at https://ignou-defence.samarth.edu.in/
- Look for the “New Registration” option available on the login page and provide the required details like email and mobile number.
- Your login information will be shared on your registered e-mail or via SMS.
- Access your account by providing login credentials.

- Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned copy of 10th mark sheet (less than 200 KB)
- Scanned copy of 12th pass/equivalent mark sheet (less than 200 KB)
- Scanned copy of the Permission Letter issued by the Commanding Officer (less than 200 KB)

Fee can be paid by following methods:
The fee for the program may be paid with a debit/credit card, net banking, or both using an online payment method. After applying online, students may see their application's current status. A notification is sent to the user's saved email and cellphone number after admission has been approved. Once the amount is paid and the application is submitted, there will be no correction window.
IGNOU Refund Policy
At the time of admission, a non-refundable registration fee with a first-year course fee will be charged by the university. In case a student decides to cancel his application and call off admission then the individual must be aware of the refund policy given below:
- Candidates applying for fee refund before acceptance of admission will receive the amount without any deduction.
- Students who cancel their application within 15 days of acceptance of admission will receive the amount with a deduction of INR 500.
- Individuals cancelling applications between 16 to 19 days of confirmation of admission will be refunded after a deduction of INR 1000.
- Once 90 days have passed from acceptance of admission, students will not receive any refund.
